Today is a sad days as I am leaving Spain. We've had a great time in Spain, and we've had some beautiful weather, oh my goodness it has been gorgeous. Highlights of my Spain Road Trip have included La Alhambra (Spains most visited tourist attraction), the mosque cathedral of Cordoba, the Medieval town of Toledo, the border town of Arcos de la Frontera with it's fascinating history and sightseeing in Madrid and Seville.

Today Spain is leaving me with a dose of wet weather as I cross the border and we drive to Portugal.

Portuguese Toll Roads

When you drive across the border from Spain into Portugal, go to the toll machines which are just across the border.

So a travel tip for you. When you drive across the border from Spain into Portugal and you're not in a Portuguese registered car (for example I hired my car in Spain) you have to go to the toll machines which are just across the border.

These toll machines will speak you in various languages and basically you put in a credit card and then you will be automatically billed to this credit card for any toll roads you use driving this car so you don't have to stop on the tolls and get a receipt.

Okay, that was easy, I've done that got a toll receipt let's go. Welcome to Portugal!
